Barton Creek Neighborhood Description
Located west and slightly south of both the Downtown and Westlake areas, Barton Creek (BC) is a delicate mix of greenbelt space and more significant residential properties. The houses are generally larger than average and sit upon half-acre of larger pieces of land. Most of the Barton Creek neighborhoods have affiliated with Home Owner’s Associations and were developed in the mid-’80s and ’90s.
BC is home to The Barton Creek Country Club, which boasts three of the top tier golf courses in the city and a fourth off-site course in Spicewood (30 – 45 minutes west of Downtown. Ben Crenshaw, Tom Fazio, and Tom Kite all had hands in the development of the neighborhood and were involved in the design of the courses in Barton Creek. If you play out at Barton Creek, you just may find on the range!
The private neighborhoods are only a very short drive from several of the Barton Creek Greenbelt trailheads. Most restaurants and shops are conveniently located off Bee Cave Road and Southwest Parkway, with a more extensive shopping area located off Bee Cave Road, and 360 (Loop 360/Capital of Texas Highway) called the Barton Creek Mall. BC is wholly located within the Austin Independent School District (AISD).

Golf
Barton Creek Golf members enjoy four championship golf courses alongside four driving ranges, six putting greens, four short game areas, and the world-class Barton Creek Golf Academy. Club golf organizations include the Women’s Golf Association, Men’s Golf Association, and couple’s golf groups. Our club also hosts a variety of golf events including club championships, member-member, and member-guest tournaments.
Pool & Fitness
Barton Creek features an indoor and outdoor club pool as well as a resort pool and cabana at the OMNI Resort. The indoor pool is open year-round and is primarily used for lap swimming and exercise classes.
BC features State-of-the-art exercise equipment, personal training, free weights, assisted weight machines, punching bags, outdoor running, stretching areas, weekly classes, and Kids Club.
Dining
Barton Creek offers members a luxury dining experience with courses prepared by award-winning executive chefs. In addition to the club facilities which are reserved for members, BC provides access to all the restaurants and lounges at the Resort: Blind Salamander Kitchen & Bar, Bob’s Steak & Chophouse, Crenshaw’s Bar & Eatery, Jim Bob’s Lobby Lounge, Nopales, Texas Spice, Velvet Joe’s Coffee, and Canyon’s Grille.
